Appearance: Colorless transparent prismatic or white granules or crystalline powder. Pungent and salty taste with cool sensation. Slightly hygroscopic, hygroscopicity is smaller than sodium nitrate. Decompose at 400 ℃ and escape oxygen.1g dissolved in 2.8ml water, 0.5ml boiling water, 620ml ethanol. Soluble in glycerol, insoluble in anhydrous ethanol. When dissolved in water, it can absorb heat to lower the temperature. Aqueous solution pH is about 7. Relative density (d164) 2.109. melting point 334℃. Strong oxidizing.

Emergency Treatment

INHALATION: Remove quickly from scene to fresh air. Keep airway open. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, administer artificial respiration immediately. Seek medical attention. Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water and give milk or egg white. Seek medical attention. Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing immediately and rinse with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention. EYE CONTACT: Immediately lift eyelids and rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or saline for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Fire Extinguishing

Combustibility: non-combustible Fire extinguishing agent: mist water, sand and soil. Fire Fighting Precautions: Firefighters must wear gas masks and full body firefighting suits. Do not shoot water directly at molten material as this may cause a serious stream fire or cause violent boiling.
